What is NULCA?

NULCA sets the standards for all underground utility locating and provides training, certification, and standards for all professionals who locate underground utilities such as water, gas, electric, and telecommunication lines.

When a utility locator is NULCA certified, it means they have met the standards and requirements set by NULCA for proficiency in utility locating. This certification indicates that the individual has demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skill in identifying and marking underground utilities.

How long is the NULCA certification valid?

The NULCA certification is valid for two years! We are in the process of developing refresher courses to keep your certification up to date.

Where is the location of your training?

Our classes are held at Santiago Canyon College, located in Orange County. The class is entirely in-person with in-class and hands-on training.

Do you provide out-of-state training?

Yes! We can provide out-of-state training if there is a sufficient group.

What is the duration of your training class?

Our Subsurface Utility Locating Course spans three days, typically from Tuesday to Thursday. Should you choose to enroll in our Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Course, the total duration of training will extend to four days.

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

No, you do not need to bring your equipment as we will provide training equipment. We recommend you bring a hat, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a notebook, and a pencil. Lunch will be provided to you for your entire training duration. Below is the type of equipment we use.
